The Project: Restoring the Franklin Township Annex Building

Franklin Township’s Annex Building — formerly the district’s high school — is being brought back online due to rising student enrollment. Rather than undertaking costly flooring replacement across the facility, the district called on Midwest Floor Restore to provide smart, efficient solutions that would revitalize existing surfaces and make the space ready for modern use.

Partial Terrazzo Restoration: Preserving the Original Character

The terrazzo flooring throughout the main corridors of the building was still structurally sound — it just needed professional attention to restore its original beauty. Our team performed a partial terrazzo restoration, including:

Stripping away old sealers and buildup
Honing the surface to remove minor wear and scuffs
Polishing to restore natural luster
Applying a protective sealer for durability and ease of maintenance

This approach preserved the original flooring while drastically improving its appearance and performance — all at a fraction of the cost of replacement.

Epoxy Flooring for High-Performance Spaces

In addition to the terrazzo work, Franklin Township Schools trusted us with resurfacing key utility spaces:

Custodial and IT Rooms: We installed a solid color epoxy system for a clean, durable, and low-maintenance finish. These high-traffic areas benefit from the chemical and impact resistance epoxy provides.
Restrooms: We used a quartz broadcast epoxy system to create a textured, slip-resistant surface with enhanced aesthetics and durability — ideal for restroom environments.

Even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Gabriel Sachs and his team were quick to propose. schedule. and complete several projects at the Main Medical Center Campus (VAMC) and the Ft. Thomas. Kentucky Domiciliary (VAMC / DOM). These projects included but weren’t limited to restroom and tile restoration in (6) Ft. Thomas resident and staff areas. a complete floor sanding and cleaning in the Pulmonary & Renal Clinic. Terrazzo sanding and restoration throughout the Main Hospital’s | floor Directors / Hemodialysis areas. and a dillicult floor stripping / resealing of our Veterans Canteen service VCS) calcteria and seating areas.
